We are delighted to announce the formation of a new organization, the New York Book Forum, Inc, where reading comes into focus!
We originally introduced this group at the Annual Business Meeting of the Book Industry Guild of New York at their virtual event in May of 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly impacted the initial launch and subsequent membership drive. Nevertheless, we remain dedicated to the vision and value of this new entity.
The NYBFI was created with the intent of building bridges between the general public and the entire spectrum of the book publishing industry, with an emphasis on the importance of reading and the promotion of literacy efforts. As such, it has been incorporated as a nonprofit tax exempt organization.
Membership will be open to those across the book publishing industry, as well as interested individuals of the reading public. We expect to hold regular informational forums, sponsor book competitions and offer educational opportunities. All of these endeavors are designed to celebrate the value of book creation, production, and distribution, regardless of format!
